The date
The year 2000 and the new millennium ahead of us are food for thought for many. 5 May 2000 in particular is generally considered to be a historic moment for planet Earth and consciousness. Astrologically, 28 May 2000 sees the beginning of a new era as well: shaping a more natural way of living jointly with people from different countries and cultures, with joy. As with the birth of a child, every beginning deserves attention – for the beginning holds the future. A Historical Perspective – 1995 First Annual Gathering for Holistic Learning Centers
Omega Institute invites people involved with holistic learning centers to gather together to learn from one another, share stories, and benefit from the experience of experts in the field. During Omega’s 18 years, we have had many opportunities to work with several other centers in the United States and abroad. Within this developing network, we’ve found many valuable skills and experience to share.
A Historical Perspective – The 1995 Invitation to New York
Dear Colleague,
Over the past ten years, a number of holistic centers have been meeting to network, “hang out”, and learn from each other’s mistakes. These meetings have been marked purely by good will: a group of good people trying to do good work. Over the years, most of the holistic centers throughout North America have been represented: Omega, Esalen, New York Open Center, Interface, Naropa, Hollyhock, Wainwright House, Chinook Leaning Center, and many more. Although these meetings have been heartfelt and very rewarding, we have felt a need to spend more time together to work on the “nuts and bolts” of running a holistic learning center. [Read more…]
